The UAE advertiser permit: what trainers promoting their own coaching should know

Reports on the UAE Advertiser Permit say anyone creating advertising content on social media needs one, paid or unpaid, while people promoting their own products or services through personal accounts are exempt. Rules change: check the UAE Media Council. This is information, not legal advice.

Promoting your own coaching

Most of what a trainer posts to sell their coaching promotes their own services: your offer, your programme, your price and your link. Reports describe this as exempt when it is done through your personal account. Keep that promotion clearly about your own coaching, under your own name or your own company’s.

When it may apply to you

The permit is reported to cover promotion of other people’s products and services. Check the current rules with the UAE Media Council before you post if you do any of these:

  • Paid or gifted posts for a gym, brand or supplement.
  • Promoting another trainer’s programme or a product you do not own, including through affiliate links.
  • Running a page that advertises other businesses’ offers.

A practical checklist before you promote

  1. List what you promote

Separate your own coaching from anything you post for someone else.

  2. Check the account

Reports tie the exemption to promoting your own services through personal accounts.

  3. Check the current rules

Rules change. Read the UAE Media Council’s current guidance or ask a legal adviser.

  4. Keep claims accurate

Describe what subscribers get and your price in AED; avoid promising results.

  5. Keep records

Note paid partnerships, what you posted and when.

How trainsyou fits

trainsyou gives you a tagged link to your own coaching website and app, so the promotion you post is promotion of your own services. It does not post to Instagram for you and does not advise on permits.
